Work throughout the day and then head to Kensington Olympia for a Gaja Barbaresco vertical back to an incredibly elusive, pre-Angelo 1958. I have managed to wangle Stuart and Andrew Watson of Margaret River estate “Woodlands” into the tasting because I know they appreciate their Old World wines. It is great to see them.
Afterwards we pop over the road for some noodles and a quick chat, although my rice is probably some of the worst I have encountered. Where is the stickiness? Where is the flavour?
The waitress is Japanese…how can she tarnish the culinary reputation of her homeland in this fashion?
Good job Tomoko is not here. Should would have caused a scene.
