Another day writing. I stop at 4pm to spend some quality time with the Lily and Daisy with a kickabout in the back garden. Lily and Daisy actually have a fine touch with the ball (a Cinderella one, not FIFA approved.) Lily’s volley is coming on nicely and I suspect should could find herself in Capello’s final 23 on Tuesday.
In the evening, I attend a highly enjoyable dinner organized by Nicos for a mutual friend over from the United States. Nicos gains considerable kudos for demonstrating an appreciation for Kariya’s awesome 1989 house track “Baby Let Me Love You Tonight”, as well as offering some fascinating old Burgundies crowned by a lovely Meursault 1964 from a negociant, Maison Lafitte.
No doubt its name would cube its price in China.
The Ledbury’s food is delectable, including pigeon legs whose aroma implies that the chef has smoked them in marijuana. This would be the first time that 2-Michelin starred restaurant has infused soft drugs into their cuisine and I am later assured that there were no illegal ingredients used in the pigeon legs.
