I come downstairs to find Lily and Daisy watching a free DVD courtesy of the Daily Mirror. Snow White, albeit a rather macabre, dubbed, Eastern European version where the dwarves are named after days of the week, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday etc instead of Sleepy, Angry, Dopey and so on. I can only assume this is to circumvent copyright laws. Despite the stilted script and the fact that it lasts approximately three hours, the kids are transfixed, even if it is likely to give them nightmares. I pop down to the co-op in Old Leigh to buy some fresh fish, utilizing my native Essex accent to converse on the same level as the fisherman: skate, salmon, trout and so on (I am saving the razor clams until summer for the barbecue.) Then a roast dinner with the family and then back home round the M25 to re-acquaint the sprogs with their mother, who will hopefully be rested and relaxed.
